Hi, I’m Emily.
As a CCI-Certified Eating Disorder Coach and Certified Peer Specialist, I help clients recover from eating disorders, disordered eating, and/or substance use disorders.
Qualifications
Functions and benefits of coaching
Coaching is designed to complement your existing treatment team, offering eating disorder recovery support and substance use recovery support in real-life moments, especially between sessions, when things can feel the hardest.
Many people in recovery share that connecting with someone who has lived experience of healing can bring a sense of hope and possibility. Working with a recovery coach - particularly an eating disorder coach or peer specialist - can provide that connection, while staying grounded in your unique path and pace.
Coaching is not a substitute for therapy, nutrition counseling, or other clinical care. Instead, it works alongside your therapist, dietitian, and treatment team, bridging the gap between sessions and helping you navigate challenges as they come up in everyday life.
Eating disorder coaching and substance use recovery coaching can support you in maintaining progress, reducing the need for a higher level of care, and easing transitions during step-down phases of treatment.
The focus is practical, flexible, and collaborative, supporting you in building coping skills, improving eating disorder behaviors, reducing substance use urges, and setting recovery goals that feel meaningful and achievable. When motivation feels low or ambivalence is strong, my approach to coaching can also help you gently explore that space and reconnect with your reasons for recovery, without pressure or judgment.
While deeper underlying issues are best explored with your therapist, coaching stays grounded in the present, offering real-life recovery support, accountability, and guidance as you apply tools and continue moving forward in a way that feels supportive and sustainable.
This service is ideal for individuals seeking eating disorder/substance use recovery support, relapse prevention, meal support, or ongoing accountability between therapy sessions.
Sessions can include:
-
Coaching conversations about all things eating disorder and/or substance use recovery
-
Meal and/or snack support
-
Clothing, grocery shopping support, or general executive functioning/life skills support
-
Ongoing in-the-moment text support
